randomly blogging
One day I decided I wanted more than the box life everyone fits into... I wanted to take risk, be free & control my own 'destiny' so to speak.... like my spouse. So, here I am being an entrepreneur with my spouse: "Living the Dream" so to speak. I make my own hours, wear what I want (because I work out of my own home), no make-up, no shoes, no problem!
Piece of Cake!
umm.....not quite!
The easy part is deciding to make a change, its even easy to quit a job & start working from home.... but then comes the hard work! When you start your own company, many times you start out doing all the work yourself. Thankfully I am NOT alone in this adventure! My husband has been an entrepreneur for over 10 years & has been involved with several businesses, I am thankful for his experiences & knowledge.
There are many different things you have to do in order to make a business successful... I'm still certainly still learning. I have taken on the role of coorespondence emails, social media marketing (this is a full time job in itself!) as well as payroll & anything accounting, (basically all finances in general- another full time job) scheduling networking events, keeping everything organized... the list continues!
BUT, my favorite yet most challenging part is the social media... especially when it comes to blogging.
One thing I have read is that blogging is a great way to promote, build relationships & share.
Creating a blog, writing & sharing my opinions or random thoughts with the world is one thing... in fact, its a piece of cake! However, creating a SUCCESSFUL blog is a much greater challenge... what really do I blog about, what are people interested in reading?
That still is an unanswered question for me: What should I blog about?
Part of a blog has to do with its readers or audience. So, what is your opinion, what should I write about? What would interest you in continuing to read my blog?
Until I answer that "key" question, I will just randomly blog....

a login for everything
Why oh why does everything need a sign in? There is very few places in which you can comment, like or vote for something without creating a login for that site. You CAN however link just about everything to your facebook account or twitter; mainly facebook. With the many email accounts & login/passwords that everyone has now-a-days why would I want to create yet another login to another site that I may only use one time... perhaps two times but that second time will most likely be spent retreiving the user & password because 'I forgot'
I find this frustrating when blogging or trying to promote when a key to social media is commenting, voting, posting, or liking something.... how are we suppose to do this when every time we turn around we have to sign up for something?
I just want to say my opinion is that is very silly and I dont want to link all these crazy sites to my facebook & allow them all 'access'.

No Motivation
Many days I have to give myself a "pep talk" in order to get out of bed, get ready & get myself out the door to go to work. It is a much easier task to get out the door in the morning when you work for someone else, at least to me it is. There is much more 'fear' in "I cant be late otherwise I may loose my job" when working for someone else... Self-employed folk dont have a boss to fear BUT they also have the reality of "If I do not go out & work today I cant pay my bills". I would think this would be more of a motivating factor for those who are in business for themselves, not always the case though. I certainly have days where there is just no motivation even though I know I have to work in order to make money.

Step out of the box~
Recently I took a huge leap in life: I quit the "work force box" (the 9-5 monday through friday) I am now renting library books on small business taxes, accounting & social media networking. Whew! just thinking of it makes me feel excited, scared & overwhelmed with terms I have NO CLUE what they mean. It will be slow going but overtime I think I will learn the swing of things.
I decided to get out of the box & become a real partner to my spouse & his entrepreneur adventures, partly because I am tired of watching him have the freedom & flexibility to decide how he wants his day to look, partly because I'm tired of working with frustrating people & sometimes even bosses who take for granted the 110% that I put into their business only to be under-appreciated, but I think mostly because I believe there is an entrepreneur inside of us all but fear holds us back from taking the reigns of life & saying I choose to be in control. I have decided that fear is not going to hold me back any longer.... thinking back to my childhood, I remember all of the "big" dreams I had, the passion & excitement of doing something amazing & not wondering what others will think or the risks that are involved, that is the goal of who I want to become.
My role is now bookkeeper, accountant, office assistant, social media marketing & part owner of Evolutionary Marketing Solutions, We Will Do It Handyman & Restoration Specialists as well as the wife of the Author Ray Chubb, The 5 Step Guide to Empowering Consumers.
The first step was to start marketing through social media:
I have been reading today on social media marketing and have created two blogs, this one & one on tumblr.com : TheWifeOfAnEntrepreneur http://www.tumblr.com/blog/brookechubb
which has no blogs as of yet but be patient my friends there will be blogs soon!
I also found that there are easier ways to spend time marketing through social media... instead of going onto facebook, twitter, blogs, linkedin, ect. each individually there are sites such as ping.fm, hootsuite or sproutsocial that can be very helpful in managing the different social sites; a one stop shop for marketing. How nice! I think I will check out a free trial & see which I find most useful.
My first day into really deciding to give this social media a full force effort, I am feeling overwhelmed yet excited to see how I learn & grow through this journey.
I step forward to embrace the fear & overcome it!
